What is Jadeite?
Jadeite is a pyroxene mineral and one of the two types of pure jade. The other is known as nephrite jade. Jadeite is the rarer of the two jades, and as a result, it is considered to be more precious and valuable. The most valuable form ofjadeite is a striking and even emerald green known as "imperial jadeite
The most important source is the large deposit near Tawmaw, Myanmar (Burma). Jadeite has also been found near Omi and Kotaki, Japan; in the Motagua River valley of Guatemala; in San Benito county, Calif.; Kazakhstan; and the Ural Mountains,Russia.
Jadeite and nephrite are totally different minerals. They have different densities, different hardness, different crystal structure, and different chemical compositions. Classic jade, the jade that comes from China, is nephrite, and jadeite, the rarer type of jade, comes from Burma.
The highest quality jade can cost more than gold, at thousands of dollars per ounce, the price of nephrite jade generally varies.
Jadeite and nephrite are minerals that form through metamorphism. They are mostly found in metamorphic rocks associated with subduction zones. ... Jadeite is typically found in rocks that have a higher pressure origin than nephrite.
Jade is a beautiful stone that can be many different colors including green, orange, or white. Most of us will have seen the Jade that is green in color. Jade however is a very popular and expensive stone and this has given rise to many fakes, imitations or treated Jades being seen in the market place.
I hope you found this as interesting as I did. Had to share it with you.
WHAT DOES STS MEAN STAMPED ON JEWELRY
Some one asked.
Bought a ring stamped 14k on one side and STS on the other. Is it 14k white gold, sterling, stainless steel? Please help! I need to know becasue I spent $200 dollars on it, and want to know if I got ripped off!
No you did not get ripped off. $200 is a good price for 14K Gold. Your fine. Below is the information that anyone buying jewelry should know. Platinum overlay is also good. Platinum cost more than Sterling Silver. It protects the Sterling from turning and you don't have to clean it. Some people thinks its inferior but its a good thing. Good Jewelry take this particular care.
STS stamped on any ring band or any piece of jewelry means it was created by an STS Jewelry company which has it's headquarters on Austin Texas. They are quite reputable and have been in business a very long time. They are most well known for making affordable prices real pieces of color genuine gemstone jewelry. The STS mark is simply their jewelry company stamp and does Not reflect what the piece contains metal wise.
You must use the second stamp to determine the metal type. They are well known to make 14k gold 10 kt. Gold 14kt rose gold 10kt rise gold14 kt white gold and 10 kt white gold.
They also make many pieces stamped .925 which are actually platinum over .925 nickel free fine Sterling silver and those have high luster and do not tarnish or cause allergies like some Sterling can. They are a reputable company and I personally do not work for them but I do own quite a few lovely pieces they made! Rest tight you weren't drained or taken.
What is Rubellite Quarts?
The Rubellite is a transparent gemstone from the colorful family of the Tourmalines. Its color can vary from red to violet to pale and dramatic pink. Its name comes from the Latin word “Rubellus” which means reddish. It is the most prized and expensive member of the tourmaline family because of its beauty and rarity.
Rubellite is a red-colored gemstone differing from rubies in several ways: it is more rare than ruby; it is less dense; it is not as fiery or brilliant; and it is not as hard as as Ruby. The beautiful red color of Rubellite makes it desirable for jewelry, like Ruby, but it is actually a Tourmaline.
Tsavorite is one of two green varieties of garnet, though arguably the more important of the two. Especially in smaller sizes, tsavorite creates competition for emerald because it is less included, rarely treated and more durable. Like some emerald and green tourmaline, tsavorite garnet owes its green hues to the presence of vanadium and chromium. First discovered in Tanzania in 1967 and a few years later in Kenya, tsavorite's name pays homage to the nearby Tsavo National Park.
Torbernite is occasionally found as a coating on the walls of crevices in rocks. It occurs in Cornwall, England; at Scheeberg, Germany; at Joachimsthal, in the Czech Republic, Congo, Africa and at many other places where other uranium minerals exist. It is probably in all cases a secondary product of weathering. Containing 61.2 per cent uranium trioxide, it is a minor ore of uranium. Attractive coloration and crystallization make it desirable as a mineral collector specimen.
Pastel green/blue square tabular crystals from 1-2mm. Excellent specimen.

There is only one source for this particular type of Turquoise. That source is from the Kingman mine in Arizona.
Purple Turquoise starts out as stabilized Blue Kingman Turquoise. There is not a vein of purple Turquoise that was discovered at the mine! It is dyed purple and then goes through a Bronze fusion process that creates a shiny bronze color to the matrix. It is then formed, polished and set in necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc.
The Kingman mine is the only mine authorized to process their Turquoise in this manner.
Turquoise has long been thought of as a holy stone a bringer of good fortune or a talisman and has been called a "gemstone of the peoples." The name turquoise is derived from an Old French word meaning "Turkish stone" because the stone was introduced to Europe by Venitian traders who purchase turquoise at Turkish bazaars. These stones likely came from the Sinai Peninsula in Iran an area that has been mining turquoise since 5000 BCE. The Persians called turquoise "firouze" which means victorious. Turquoise is the national gemstone of Iran.
Absolutely stunning and intriguing Mojave turquoise is crafted through a process that uses a hydraulic press to assemble turquoise nuggets by introducing a bronze metal matrix throughout the brick of base turquoise. Once the turquoise is pressed or assembled it is stabilized to harden the stone. This is the only product in today's market that features real Arizona turquoise and real metal matrix. This unique process was created by the Arizona Kingman Mine.
